Mamata Reddy grew up learning to cook and bake in her South Indian mother's kitchen. She wrote a mean high school newspaper column and tore up the southern Missouri speech and debate circuit during her youth, which led the way to attending the University of Missouri in Columbia, where she majored in Journalism. She went on to enjoy a long and illustrious career in academic and financial publishing but experienced a one-third life crisis a few years ago, and chucked the cubicle farm to go to the French Pastry School in Chicago. She taught culinary classes for five years at the Gary Comer Youth Center on Chicago’s South Side, while also running Spoonfoolery as a made-to-order cake and sweet treats business. This year, Mamata began offering private cooking and baking instruction for all ages, including tiny tots (ages 3-6),tweens, and plenty of adults, who seem a little afraid of making pie crust but really shouldn't be!
